MINOR OFFCIALS TRAINING

Below is a link to several videos, each of which gives a detailed breakdown of all the roles and

responsibilities of a specific minor official position. You will also find a link to a quiz, which

you can take if you wish to become a minor official for an upcoming tournament or event.

Feel free to peruse the videos if you only wish to learn more about the sport, but if you are taking

the quiz make sure that you know all information covered in the videos well.  You may want to

view the videos more than once.

When you feel you are ready to take the quiz, click on the test link shown below. There are 25

true or false and multiple-choice questions. Some of these are core questions and will appear

every time a candidate takes the quiz. Other questions change randomly.

You will have 25 minutes to complete the quiz. You will have three tries to pass the quiz before

each event you wish to work at. A passing mark will require a score of 80% or higher. Your

qualification is good for 1 year from the date you successfully complete the quiz. After one year,

you will need to take the test again.

Ontario Water Polo will maintain a list of potential minor officials who have successfully

completed the quiz, so the host club of the event where you wish to officiate can check your

credentials.
