The objective of the Performance Center is to introduce and lead the development of elite waterpolo players in their respective city and province by providing opportunities for talented regional and provincial level waterpolo players to achieve excellence in high performance sport from within their home environment.
The Head Coach of the Nation’s Capital Performance Center is Cyndie Flett. Cyndie brings immediate credibility, professionalism as well as a wealth of national and international experience to the center.
The performance center’s curriculum will be communicated to the performance center head coach by the Womens Program Leader, Pat Oaten. The content of the performance center will directly relate to what is being taught at the Womens National Training Center in Montreal. The focus will be both offensive and defensive techniques with the eventual implementation of these techniques into tactics and real time play. Although not a focal point, fitness levels will be addressed, but it is expected that the clubs of these selected athletes have addressed this issue.
We are asking that all selected athletes confirm their participation at the Perfromance Center by September 22nd, 2008
